It’s generally the same phone inside.
However, the main differing feature for me are the different keyboards.

The Curve has a full QWERTY keyboard, which is just like the keyboard you have on your computer. However the Pearl has a half-QWERTY keyboard, with two letters on each button. This can make typing really difficult until you get used to it.

Many people have to get new phones within their first week because they can’t stand the Pearl’s keyboard. I would wait until you can get the Curve, you will be more satisfied.

the keyboard is the major difference,
if u dont wanna spend time learning new keys the pearl isnt a good choice.
blackberry’s are great phones i agree
if ur deciding on the pearl get the newest model possible…

make sure you can plug in your favorite ear phones in them cause it plays music very well
3.5 mm is best

Well other than the weight, battery type, and talk time.
They have differences in the messaging.
The Blackberry Curve has OP3 / IMAP4 / SMTP / Microsoft Exchange / Lotus Domino for email as well as AOL / Google / ICQ / Windows Live / Yahoo! for chatting.
The Pearl has Microsoft Exchange / Lotus Domino for email and AOL / ICQ / Windows Live / Yahoo! for chat. You can check out the link below for more in-depth features and user reviews for both phones.

My sister works for Cingular Wireless, and the two phones they have the most complaints and technical problems with are the Razr Phone and the Blackberry. If I were you, and selecting a cell phone, go to a CORPORATE store site for the cell carrier you have. Not one of those stands in the mall or a franchise store. Usually, say Verizon, they are in Circuit City’s. They don’t work off commision and will actually sell you a quality phone. See – the blackberry phone is a very cheaply made phone that they get a lot of commission for selling because it makes them lots of money. Get something better that will last longer.
